Job summary

VitalCore Health Strategies Pearl, Mississippi, is seeking a full-time Phlebotomist at a Central MS Correctional Facility in Pearl, MS. The role offers competitive wages, benefits, and an incentive program.

The Phlebotomist will perform laboratory services as ordered, collect specimens, verify patient details, and adhere to infection control and safety policies in a secure correctional setting.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Certified phlebotomist by professional organization in the state.
• Subject to initial and ongoing security clearance requirements.
• Must have at least 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist.
• Acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gather medical testing materials, including needles, sample vials, blood storage bags, and test tubes.
• Explain blood draw procedures with patients.
• Verify patient information and labeling blood samples properly.
• Adheres to Universal Precaution procedures and established Infection Control procedures.
• Adheres to safety and security policies and participates in disaster drills.
• Is proficient with CPR and re-certification training annually.
• Receives re-certification training annually.
• Assists in cleaning, sterilizing, and securing equipment.
• Follows security regulations for keys, sharps, and controlled medications.
