Work is performed in a plasma center, with exposure to biological fluids, potential infectious organisms, electrical office and laboratory equipment, and extreme cold below 32°F while working in a plasma freezer. Protective eyewear, garments, gloves, and cold gear are required. Tasks include standing for 6 to 8 hours per day, bending and twisting the neck and waist for 1–2 hours per day, frequent hand and foot movements, lifting up to 15 lbs with a maximum lift of 50 lbs, and maintaining hearing and color vision acuity. Instructions are typically provided orally or in writing; sensitive information must be relayed to diverse groups.
