Our Blood Institute in Lawton, OK seeks a phlebotomist to deliver a safe, friendly donor experience. High school diploma or GED required; on-the-job training provided with no experience necessary. Be ready for a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, and weekends; strong communication and reliability are essential.

Must lift up to 40 lbs and have reliable transportation. Bonuses totaling up to $3,000 are paid at 6 months, 1 year, and 3 years.

Qualifications

• No prior phlebotomy experience is required due to world-class paid on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

• Perform registration, vitals, medical screening, phlebotomy, and record-keeping for blood donation procedures.
• Adhere to SOPs and regulatory standards to ensure safe collection of blood products.
• Assist supervisor with daily paperwork and ticketing as needed.
• Notify supervisor of equipment or procedural issues and donor concerns promptly.
• Monitor donors and respond to reactions, providing care and reassurance.
• Educate donors on donation frequency and the importance of blood products.
• Carry out all other duties assigned by supervisor.

Considered applicants must have a high school degree or GED, college classes are a plus. This position offers WORLD CLASS PAID on-the-job training with no experience required.

The phlebotomist should be a shining example of superior customer service, professionalism, donor care and technical ability. Successful candidate must be available to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends. They must be on-time, reliable, good communicators, detail oriented, and work well with others. This position requires candidates to have reliable transportation, working telephone, standing for long periods of time, and ability to lift 40 lbs regularly.

Pay:

Competitive pay based on experience; additional pay for technical school certification, associate degree's, bachelors' degrees, etc; additional pay if fluent in Spanish; WORLD CLASS PAID on-the-job training; $500 bonus after 6 months and $1,000 bonus after 1 year!

Days and Hours:

Varied based on when blood drives are scheduled (early mornings, late evenings, weekends)

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform registration, vitals, medical screening, phlebotomy, heat sealing duties and record keeping duties associated with whole-blood, autologous, directed, therapeutic, testing services, research projects, etc
• Strictly adhere to all standard operating procedures ensuring all blood products are collected within the quality standards set forth by regulatory agencies including the FDA
• Assist supervisor in verifying and completion of daily paperwork
• Alert the Supervisor of any problems or concerns when issues arise related to equipment, venipuncture, donor questions/issues or equipment performance
• Continually assess donor needs throughout the donation process, including evaluating and treating donor reactions
• Educate donors on blood fact information such as donation frequency, need for blood products, etc
• All other duties assigned by supervisor

Salary: $14.50 - $20.00 per hour
