Job summary

VitalCore Health Strategies is seeking a Full-Time Phlebotomist at Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center in Lancaster, MA. The phlebotomist will perform laboratory services as ordered by a physician within the facility's capabilities and must meet security clearance requirements.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, state certification, at least 1 year of phlebotomy experience, and acute care experience is preferred. Competitive wages and benefits are offered.

Phlebotomist Position Summary

A Phlebotomist performs laboratory services as ordered by a physician or qualified practitioner within the capabilities of the facility.

Phlebotomist Minimum Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Certified by professional organization in the state Subject to initial and ongoing security clearance requirements Must have at least 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist Acute care experience preferred

Phlebotomist Essential Functions

• Gather medical testing materials, including needles, sample vials, blood storage bags, and test tubes
• Explain blood draw procedures with patients
• Verify patient information and labeling blood samples properly Adheres to Universal Precaution procedures and established Infection Control procedures
• Adheres to safety and security policies and participates in disaster drills Is proficient with CPR and recognizes the need to implement it. Receive re-certification training annually Assists in cleaning, sterilizing, and securing equipment Follows security regulations for keys, sharps, and controlled medications
