Job summary

Riggs Community Health Center in Lafayette, IN is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our primary care labs. You will collect specimens, follow QA procedures, and work with a skilled team of MAs, nurses, and doctors to support patient care in a fast-paced, community-focused setting.

This full-time position features a stable 40-hour week with no nights or overtime, travel between Lafayette locations, and competitive benefits including low-cost medical, dental and vision, an HSA employer contribution,

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy knowledge and proficiency in specimen handling.
• Experience with quality control procedures.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and analyzes specimens following department policies and procedures.
• Performs equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and inventory control tasks.
• Maintains proficiency in phlebotomy procedures.
• Reads and records refrigerator temperatures as per procedures.
• Maintains confidentiality of all patient related information accessed.
• Interacts with other health care professions, patients and their families.
• Properly logs and prepares specimens for ISHD.
• Performs and logs State pregnancy tests and ensures adequate working inventory of test materials.
• Checks all original lab requisitions for completeness.
• Courteously manages and/or redirects phone calls received in the laboratory.
• ***Must be able to travel between Lafayette locations.
• 40 hours/week. No Overtime. 8-5 or 9-6 with limited Saturday Rotation.
