Job summary

Labcorp in Glen Burnie, MD is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our on-site team. You will perform venipuncture and capillary collections for all ages, collect specimens for a variety of tests, and enter patient data accurately. You’ll also handle billing, prepare samples for testing, and maintain logs while delivering excellent patient service.

The role emphasizes flexibility (occasional overtime) and teamwork in a fast-paced lab environment with strong compliance and patient-care standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent phlebotomy training/certification.
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program preferred.
• Ability to pass color blindness test and work overtime if needed.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:30pm; One Saturday a month 9:00am -1:00pm

Job Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments when required
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Other Duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency may meet requirements
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Travel to additional site as needed, reliable transportation
• PST’s may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics

Pay Range

**Pay Range: $17.75 - $26.00 per hour

Benefits

• Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
• Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
• Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
