Seaborn Health Care Inc. seeks a Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant‑level professional for the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Jesup Health Services Unit in Jesup, GA.

You will assist clinicians, collect specimens, and manage patient flow, while ensuring proper documentation in the Bureau EMR and adherence to unit procedures. Requirements include certification to practice in Georgia (Medical Assistant, Lab Tech, EMT or Phlebotomist) and CPR certification (AHA/Red Cross).

Qualifikationen

• Must hold valid certification to practice in Georgia as Medical Assistant, Laboratory Assistant, EMT, or Phlebotomist.
• CPR certification required by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

• Assist HSA or designee in coordinating BOP and Contract Reference Lab contact, CLIA recertification, equipment maintenance, and supplies notification.
• Assist HSA and Clinical Director with writing and implementing policies related to the laboratory program.

Job Description

Place of Performance: Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Jesup, Health Services Department, 2600 HWY 301, South Jesup, GA 31599

Schedule-The work schedule shall not exceed an estimated 39 sessions per week. One session equals one hour of service. The weekly schedule will normally consist of 6 (six), one-hour sessions per day, Monday through Friday (except Federal holidays). Sessions shall be scheduled between the hours of 6:30a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. These hours may be adjusted to meet the needs of the institution. The contractor shall not normally exceed an estimated 39 hours per week.

Phlebotomy Education and Experience- The Contractor shall have valid certification to practice in the state of Georgia as a Medical Assistant, Laboratory Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician or Phlebotomist. The Contractor must be Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified, in accordance with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Description of Duties- The contractor will provide Phlebotomy Services in a method commensurate with the local community. These services, although not directly supervised, will be reviewed by a physician on staff at the institution. The performance of these services will also be verified by the designation Contracting Office Representative (COR).

The Contractor will be responsible for the following:

1. Assist the Physician, Physician Assistant, and/or Nurse with patient flow in a clinic setting by
   measuring the patient's vital signs and weight and scanning laboratory results in the Bureau Electronic Medical Record (BEMR).
   
2. Organize, schedule, and perform laboratory studies, specimen collection and process within the Health Service Unit, to include A&O in-processing, DNA per procedure, vaccine programs and PPD
   updates.
3. Prepare and ensure specimens are packed and transported according to the contract or BOP Reference Lab and document per Health Services Unit Laboratory Procedures. Ensure that lab requests are completed properly, and all reports are returned from the contract lab, provider notified, log results in as received, follow up appropriately, and file results in lab and medical record.
4. Acquire and maintain knowledge of the Health Services Manual and Unit Procedures necessary to accomplish the mission described herein, ensuring that the Laboratory Procedure Manual is updated accordingly.
5. Assist the Health Service Administrator (HSA) or his/her designee in the coordination of BOP and Contract Reference Lab contact, CLIA re-certification, maintenance of equipment and notification of needed supplies.
6. Assist the HSA and Clinical Director with writing and implementing policies that deal with the
   laboratory program.

$17.20 per hour with an additional $5.09 per hour for Health & Welfare. Think of it as $22.29 per hour.
