Job summary

Marram Health Center of Gary seeks a full-time Phlebotomist to join our team in Gary, IN. The Phlebotomist will collect blood specimens, process tests, and support daily lab operations in a patient-focused environment.

Successful candidates have a phlebotomy program credential, ASCP PBT within two years, and at least two years of phlebotomy experience. Experience with EPIC and HIPAA/compliance is valued.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Graduation from an accredited Phlebotomy Technician program required.
• PBT (ASCP) or equivalent within two years of hire.
• At least two years' experience as a Phlebotomy Technician is required.
• Previous experience with patients in healthcare or FQHC setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Draw blood samples and collect other specimens from patients, following established laboratory procedures for specimen collection, handling, and processing.
• Process laboratory test-related information in the EPIC Medical Record System, as outlined in the policy.
• Utilize hand Held System as expected.
• Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals, HIPAA Guidelines, and AIDET Expectations.
• Process laboratory test requests in order of priority and respond to STAT and Time Request tests promptly.
• Interact effectively with physicians, patients, and other support services.
• Organize and manage samples at all locations.
• Perform in-office testing, such as blood pressure, blood sugar, weight, and urine drug screens, as directed by physicians.
• Maintain clinical records and logs for clinical areas.
• Responsible for ordering, maintaining, and inventory of laboratory supplies for clinical areas.
• File charts, lab reports, patient forms, and information in the medical records.
• Attend and participate in in-service education.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Marram Health Center of Gary is seeking a FULL-TIME Phlebotomist to join our team! As a Phlebotomist at Marram Health Center, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care by collecting blood samples and processing laboratory test requests.
