SUN Behavioral Health in Erlanger, KY is seeking a phlebotomist to collect blood specimens for lab testing and represent the laboratory to patients and families. You will review physician orders and ensure correct patient data and specimen types are collected with proper identification.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Current certification in phlebotomy in the state of employment.
  • Preferred: some college coursework.
  • One year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • May substitute education for experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture using standard precautions and accurate technique.
  • Verify patient identification and correct specimen type for tests.
  • Print and verify requisitions; ensure accurate patient data.
  • Maintain clean, organized lab area and check tube expirations.
  • Respond to stat draw requests and communicate concerns to RN.
  • Restock supplies and participate in safety and quality initiatives.

Position Summary:Collects and prepares blood specimens for laboratory testing. Represents the laboratory to patients and their families. Reviews physician orders and obtains clinical and demographic information.
