Job summary

Labcorp in Downey, CA is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our clinical team at 11480 Brookshire Avenue, Suite 104. The role involves collecting blood samples from all ages by venipuncture and capillary methods, preparing specimens for testing, and maintaining accurate patient records.

You will provide excellent customer service, travel to other sites as needed, and work a schedule of Monday to Friday with some Saturdays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• California phlebotomy license (CPT) required.
• 1 month or more of phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collecting payments when required
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed

Work Schedule

Monday thought Friday 7:30 am-4:30pm with routing Saturday’s

Job Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• California state issued Phlebotomy license (CPT) 1 month or more of experience as phlebotomist

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year or more of experience as phlebotomist
• Current or Prior experience at LabCorp

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of state license requirement listed above, an application for a phlebotomy license filed with the CA Department of Health at time of hire may meet license requirement.
• 1 year or more phlebotomist experiences with Geriatrics and Pediatric patients
• Bilingual with proficiency in Spanish and English
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Reliable transportation

Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.

Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.

$23.00 - $33.00 per hour
