Job Overview

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team at 1375 Washington Ave in Albany, NY. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm and rotating Saturdays.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other analyses
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments when required
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Complete administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Phlebotomy certification, completion of a training program, or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience

Additional Job Standards

• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency if experience is lacking
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Reliable transportation
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test

Pay & Compensation

Pay Range: $17.75 - $20.00 per hour. All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees or certifications, as well as internal equity and market data. Phlebotomists may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.
