Willis-Knighton-Health-System in Alexandria, LA seeks a highly organized phlebotomist for a PRN position. The successful candidate will collect blood specimens from patients of all ages and work collaboratively with laboratory staff to ensure timely and accurate collections.
Responsibilities include data entry for test orders, preparing the lab for inspections, maintaining supplies, and providing patient-friendly service. Prior phlebotomy training and license are required.
We are seeking a highly organized, efficient, and multi-functional phlebotomist with excellent communication skills. The ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment is required. The candidate must possess skills in following policies and procedures, commitment to tasks and attention to detail in decision-making and problem-solving.
Phlebotomists are responsible for collecting blood specimens and interacting with patients fromall age groups,with a broad rangeindegree of difficulty. Working jointly with all departments in the laboratory,phlebotomists are responsible for providing efficient and timely collections for the patients in order to provide excellent care.
All employees are required to attend hospital orientation on the initial start date and then will proceed to the laboratoryto undergo an extensive training programwhich covers all areas of the phlebotomy position. We provide a one-on-one approach to this process, which typically is completed within the first1 to 2months of hire.
Annual continuing education is provided by WillisKnightonin aneffort to maintaincompetency in phlebotomy skills, safety and general laboratory areas. This alsoprovides employeesCEUs to maintain certification requirements.
This is a PRN position; hours will vary. Rotation in the weekend on-call phlebotomy rotation.
