Qualifications

• A Master of Arts (MA) or its equivalent in Philosophy, Religious Studies, or a related field is required by time of appointment.
• Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in the classroom.

Responsibilities

• Temporary/nontenured faculty are appointed to teach one to four courses per semester.
• Teaching appointments are based upon student demand on a semester-by-semester basis.
• Eligibility for annual reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations during the term period, in addition to continuity of funding and departmental need.
• Successful candidates may teach at the San Marcos and Round Rock campuses and/or online, depending on the needs of the academic department.

Education

Master of Arts (MA) in Philosophy, Religious Studies, or related field
