Job summary

Metropolitan State University of Denver invites applications for part-time affiliate Philosophy instructors to teach 3–9 credit hours per semester, in person, online, or hybrid. Courses include PHI 1010, PHI 1030, PHI 1060, PHI 1110, and PHI 3370. Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Philosophy or closely related field; Ph.D.

preferred. Affiliate faculty are paid per credit hour and hired per class basis.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Philosophy or a closely related field is required.
• Ph.D. in Philosophy or closely related field is preferred.
• Teaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach 3–9 credit hours in Philosophy; teaching may be in-person, remote, or hybrid.
• Prepare course materials and lesson plans, grade student work, provide timely feedback.
• Ensure instruction aligns with syllabus, learning objectives, and department policies; adapt to diverse student populations.
• Grade student work and align instruction with course syllabi and policies.
