Job summary

PsiQuantum offers quantum architecture internships in Palo Alto, CA, Brisbane, Australia, or remote positions. You will work with the quantum architecture team to contribute to a full-stack quantum computing architecture, focusing on theory, modelling, and practical simulations.

Applicants should be pursuing or have a PhD in a relevant field and be enthusiastic about quantum computing. Internships run 3 to 6 months with location options based on project topic; background checks are required

Qualifications

  • Degree in Physics, Math or Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Postgraduate degree related to linear optics, fault tolerance or quantum computing is desirable.
  • Knowledge of quantum information required; familiarity with quantum networks, graph states, stabilizer methods, quantum error-correcting codes, linear optical quantum computing, error modelling, tensor networks/ZX calculus.
  • Experience programming in Python, C++, or similar languages.
  • Familiarity with collaborative software development tools (e.g., GitHub) is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and study methods for fault-tolerant FBQC.
  • Topics could include linear optical networks, FBQC protocols, quantum error correcting codes, decoding methods, simulation and modelling methods.
  • Model the origin and propagation of errors.
  • Simulate and benchmark different protocols.
  • Document and communicate results.
