Job summary

Autodesk Research is seeking a PhD Researcher Intern in machine learning to advance AI for the AEC industry. The role focuses on owning research problems, collaborating with researchers, and shaping how AI connects data from design to construction.

You will develop graph-based and temporal models, work with large heterogeneous project data, and communicate results for potential publications. The 12-week internship offers a stipend and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• PhD candidate with graduation no sooner than Apr 2027.
• Experience in graph ML on heterogeneous knowledge graphs.
• Experience with temporal data or time-series forecasting.
• Experience with uncertainty-aware prediction and small/imbalanced data.
• Strong Python and PyTorch skills; graph query language knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Define and investigate an open ML/AI research question for AEC data.
• Design and train graph/temporal ML models on large project data.
• Build models with uncertainty estimates and evaluate against baselines.
• Prepare, integrate, and validate data from multiple sources including graphs.
• Document methods and present findings; potential publications.
