Triton Environmental Consultants, Ltd. is seeking an experienced NDT Lead to oversee advanced non-destructive testing on structures, pipelines, components and materials. The role combines technical expertise, leadership, and hands-on execution on-site with comfort in long hours and extended travel.

You will perform radiography, ultrasonic, magnetic particle, and PAUT inspections, and provide instruction to assistants while ensuring safety and compliance with procedures and timelines.

Qualifications

3-5+ years of lead experience in advanced NDT services.
Experience with Shear Wave and Phased Array; pipeline integrity experience preferred.
Must meet weight restrictions for safety harness use.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Ultrasonic shearwave and Magnetic Particle Inspection certifications; Eddy Current Level II preferred.
Valid driver''s license and insurability for PROtect insurance.

Responsibilities

Conduct NDT testing of components and materials per codes, standards and procedures.
Operate NDT methods including x-ray, ultrasound, PAUT, TOFD, Magnetic Particle, Laser Profilometry, and visual inspections.
Select, prepare, calibrate, and operate NDT equipment.
Identify defects and document results following protocols and timelines.

Summary

This position is responsible for performing and overseeing advanced Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspections on structures, pipelines, components, and materials using methods such as radiography (X-ray), ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing, laser profilometry, and other related inspection technologies. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise, leadership, and hands‑on execution to support growth and operational excellence.

Essential Functions

Conduct non‑destructive (NDT) testing of components and materials in accordance with applicable codes, standards, equipment utilization, specifications, and procedures.
Utilize appropriate NDT method to perform NDT inspections, including x‑ray, ultrasound, Phased Array Ultrasonics, Time of Flight Diffraction Ultrasonics, Magnetic Particle, Laser Profilometry, and visual inspections.
Select, prepare, calibrate, and operate equipment used in the non‑destructive testing of products or materials.
Identify defects in materials using appropriate testing technique.
Complete documentation and work orders thoroughly following established protocols and meeting required timeframes.
Drive Company vehicles and maintain safe driving record.
Provide instruction to assigned assistants and ensure safety of entire team.

Requirements

Education

High School Diploma or GED.

Certification and Licensure

Valid driver's license.
Insurability through PROtect, LLC. insurance carrier.
Ultrasonic shearwave
Magnetic Particle Inspection
Minimum of 80 hrs from a recognized PAUT training course.
320 documented OJT hours in PAUT.
Eddy Current Level ll Certification Preferred

Work Experience

Demonstrated NDT skill, knowledge, or experience. Requires Shear Wave and Phased Array experience. Pipeline Integrity experience a preferred however not mandatory. Applicants must meet weight restrictions to ensure their safety when utilizing safety harnesses.

3-5+ years of lead experience in advanced services

NDT Methods- Expertise in multiple NDT methods and willingness to engage in ongoing learning and application of skills.
Mechanical- Intermediate mechanical knowledge.
Safety- Knowledge of, and willingness to follow and lead others to follow applicable safety regulations, policies and procedures. Apply these safety standards in the work environment and look out for other crew members.
Able to Work a Demanding and Flexible Schedule- Strong work ethic required. Able to work long periods of time, up to 16-hour days. Able to respond to call-outs on short notice and to stay on site, including long distance travel for extended periods of time.
Physical Demands- Able to frequently lift and carry objects up to 75 pounds on loose, rough or uneven terrain. Able to occasionally exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 150 pounds with assistance. Climbing and working at heights, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, standing for long periods, walking, pushing, pulling, repetitive motion, working in confined spaces, working in extreme cold and heat, visual acuity, working near hazards including moving mechanical parts, working near electrical components and exposures to chemicals.
Teamwork- able to work effectively as part of a team and to provide instruction to others effectively and professionally.
