Job summary

Duane Reade Pharmacy in New York is seeking a motivated Pharmacy Technician to verify prescription information and support the pharmacy team. You will confirm completeness of records, retrieve and prepare medications, and assist with labeling and dispensing under a Pharmacist's supervision.

Your duties include pricing and filing prescriptions, maintaining patient profiles and insurance forms, stocking medications, and referring drug questions to a Pharmacist.

Qualifications

• Verifies prescription information for completeness and accuracy.
• Follows pharmacist guidance for dispensing and labeling.
• Requires clear English reading, writing and speaking.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Verifies that prescription information is complete and accurate.
• Retrieves, counts, pours, weighs, measures and sometimes mixes medication.
• Prepares labels, selects containers and affixes labels to containers.
• Prices and files prescriptions and ensures pharmacist checks before dispensing.
• May handle patient profiles, insurance forms and stock inventory.
• Refer questions to a Pharmacist; perform other duties as assigned.
• Scan merchandise at the register and stock shelves.
