Job summary

B. Braun CAPS in Fremont, California is hiring a Pharmacy Technician - Sterile IV Compounding to prepare compounded sterile products under the supervision of a pharmacist.

Requires CA Pharmacy Technician license and a high school diploma or equivalent; cGMP and aseptic processing training are desirable and will be provided. Schedule is 8:30am–5:00pm, rotating days, with a pay range of $25.17–$36.08 per hour. This role supports safety and quality in CAPS’ large circulating network.

Qualifications

• Requires CA Pharmacy Technician License and HS diploma/G.E.D or equivalent.
• cGMP training/experience desired, training will be provided.
• Aseptic processing training/experience desired, training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Prepares compounded sterile products using aseptic technique.
• Assists in the setup of the compounding room, equipment, and supplies.
• Performs general cleaning and maintenance duties as directed.
• Participates in cleanroom product introduction activities.
• Prepares records and monitors results for pharmaceutical quality assurance testing.

Position Summary:

Pharmacy Technician prepares compounded sterile products and performs related activities under the direction of a pharmacist.

Responsibilities: Essential Duties

• Adheres to all CAPS policies and procedures
• Prepares compounded sterile products using aseptic technique.
• Assists in the setup of the compounding room, equipment, and supplies for preparation of compounded sterile solutions, using aseptic technique.
• Performs general cleaning and maintenance duties as directed.
• Participates in cleanroom product introduction activities.
• Prepares records and monitors results for pharmaceutical quality assurance testing.

Expertise: Knowledge & Skills

• Requires working knowledge of technical field/area of specialization.
• Exercises general application of principles, theories and concepts.
• Follows established procedures and guidelines.
• Works under direct supervision and from detailed verbal and/or written instructions.
• Uses established procedures to accomplish assigned task.
• May require some limited judgement in resolving problems.
• Contacts are primarily with direct supervisor, peers and subordinates.

Expertise: Qualifications -Education/Experience/Training/Etc

Required:

• REQUIRED: Pharmacy Technician License issued by the CA Board of Pharmacy
• High school diploma/G.E.D or equivalent required.
• cGMP training/experience desired, training will be provided
• Aseptic processing training/experience desired, training will be provided.

• Schedule: (8:30am-5:00pm) variable days including weekends. Holidays/Overtime as needed
• Salary range is $25.17 - $36.08/hr

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
