The organization is looking for a Pharmacy Technician Specialist to fill an open position in the clinic, located in a busy office building. The ideal candidate will have strong pharmacy knowledge, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining close collaboration with pharmacists and healthcare providers.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serves as the on-site liaison between clinic staff and the partnering pharmacy
• Coordinates medication-related inquiries from providers, nurses, and clinical staff
• Facilitates prescription processing communication and clarification requests
• Assists with resolving medication access barriers, refill coordination, and delivery logistics
• Manages and tracks prior authorization (PA) submissions, follow-ups, approvals, and denials
• Coordinates appeals for denied prior authorizations when appropriate
• Oversees and manages Patient Assistance Programs (PAPs), including enrollment, renewals, documentation collection, and follow-up
• Communicates with pharmaceutical manufacturers and third-party vendors regarding patient assistance eligibility and status
• Ensures required documentation is completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner
• Maintains tracking logs for PA and PAP activities to ensure accountability and reporting
• Fills prescription items, as permitted by the State Board of Pharmacy, packaging medications for dispensing and for delivery, meeting the accuracy and productivity standards of the pharmacy
• Prepares prescriptions under the direct supervision of a pharmacist
• Labels products appropriately, including cautionary or auxiliary labels
• Participates in the periodic inventory of the pharmacy
• Checks drugs and supplies, inventory counts, stock shelves and remove out-of-date items from the inventory
• Communicates in-person or on the phone with internal and external customers in a pleasant and professional manner
• Maintains equipment cleanliness and clutter free environment in pharmacy
• Assists in the training of new employees
• Completes adherence and prescription pick up calls
• Addresses all patient concerns and needs in professional manner
• Attends designated departmental meeting as requested by pharmacist-in-charge
• Performs other tasks or duties as requested

EXPERIENCE / LICENSE

• Must be registered with the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy and maintain active license
• Minimum of two (3) years experience in retail or clinic-based pharmacy
• Local candidate residing in or near Keokuk, IA
