Job summary

UChicago Medicine AdventHealth is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for a full-time day shift in the Glendale Heights/Bolingbrook area, IL. This role covers both Glendale Heights and Bolingbrook locations, supporting specialty areas and ensuring staff coverage.

Requirements include hospital pharmacy experience, RPhT and CPhT licenses, strong communication, and a high school education with preferred associate or technical training. Pay range is $22.05–$35.27 per hour with benefits from day one.

Responsibilities

• Maintains proficiency in all Tech IV functions and provides coverage in any core or advanced pharmacy practice areas as needed to address staff shortages, support program and service performance, and assure achievement of strategic goals across patient care areas serviced by the pharmacy team.
• Executes expert-level pharmacy technician duties with mastery across all core and advanced workflows.
• Serves as the subject matter expert in designated specialty area (e.g., ADC systems, cleanroom/compounding, diversion prevention, informatics, investigational drugs, or medication history).
• Resolves complex issues and provides technical support related to the specialty area.

Job Description:

Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm and the location can be either Glendale Heights or Bolingbrook.

• Serves as the recognized subject matter expert in a designated specialty area, such as ADC systems, cleanroom/compounding, diversion prevention, informatics, investigational drugs, or medication history, based on organizational need and individual expertise.
• Resolves complex issues and provides technical support related to the specialty area.

• Completion of a pharmacy technician training program [Preferred]

Work Experience:

• 3+ years contemporary hospital pharmacy experience with noted experience in targeted specialty pharmacy practice. [Required]
