Job summary

Memorial Health System in Ohio offers a Pharmacy Technician Residency Program designed to train you to become a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT). The program blends online learning with on-the-job training and is recognized by the PTCB.

You will rotate through hospital settings, compounding, and medication distribution while preparing for the PTCE. Direct entry into hospital pharmacy from day one is available, with education and practice resources to support PTCE success.

Qualifications

• Typing, interpersonal skills, and some computer knowledge.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Pharmacy Technician Trainee License from the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy prior to start date; must obtain fingerprint-based background check.

Responsibilities

• On-the-job training with online coursework totaling 100+ credit hours, plus midterm and final exams.
• Coordinate with pharmacists, physicians, nursing staff and other technicians to ensure patient care quality.
• Assist with billing functions (debiting/crediting) and provide guidance to new staff.
• Manage medication storage audits, Pyxis restocking and inventory management.
• Fill and deliver medications promptly and prepare sterile products following USP 797.
