Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prioritize prescription orders, enter customer information, and assist with filling orders.
• Contact doctors for refill questions and clarification of prescriptions.
• Verify insurance coverage for customers.
• Maintain product stock, rotation, and discard expired items as needed.
• Ensure accurate organization of filled prescriptions and bulk medication bottles.
• Order supplies and medicines from wholesalers; complete related paperwork and invoices.
• Scan items, enter product codes, and ensure correct checkout totals and cash handling.
• Provide friendly customer service and assist with product location and selection.
• Adhere to safety policies and maintain a clean, sanitary work environment.

Job Summary:

Responsible for assisting pharmacy personnel with preparing prescriptions, completing related paperwork, and ordering supplies and medications. Works with doctors and insurance companies to obtain and verify necessary customer information.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prioritizes prescriptions orders, enters customer information into system, and assists with filling orders.
• Contacts doctors with questions regarding refills and clarification of prescription.
• Works with insurance companies to verify customer has necessary coverage.
• Maintains quality control by ensuring dated product is stocked, rotated, or discarded properly if unsold.
• Ensures filled prescriptions and bulk bottles of medications are organized properly.
• Orders supplies and medicines from wholesalers and distributors as needed. Completes and verifies necessary paperwork, reports, and invoices.
• Scans items and keys product codes, ensures correct check-out totals for customers, and maintains accurate money count in cash register drawer.
• Maintains a friendly and customer service-oriented attitude by greeting customers, answering questions, and responding to complaints. Assists customers with locating and selecting products.
• Maintains clean, safe and sanitary working and shopping environment by adhering to Company safety procedures. Complies with all Company policies and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Basic mathematical skills for counting purposes.
• Ability to read meters, dials, and calibrated scales.
• Ability to analyze, interpret, and summarize verbal, written, or numerical information.
• Ability to perform basic Microsoft Office functions.
• Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
• Ability to learn new technology systems, methods and processes.
• Ability to work well with fellow partners and promote a team environment.
• Ability to effectively communicate (in written and verbal form) with customers, partners, doctors’ offices, and third-party insurance companies.

• Must be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as is reasonably possible.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• Must be registered with the State Board and meet state technician requirements for continuing education.
• Partners must be 21 years of age or older to drive for Company business in accordance with the BGC Business Driver Policy.
