SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital – Madison is seeking an entry-level Pharmacy Technician (PRN). Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, the incumbent assists in transcription, storage, preparation, dispensing, and delivery of medications, and participates in non-sterile and sterile compounding with automation systems.

The role requires a High School Diploma/GED; no experience is required. The position emphasizes accurate documentation, HIPAA compliance, safety, and teamwork within a hospital

Responsibilities

• Assists in the preparation of medication orders including transcription, workflow management, automation utilization, and medication readiness for non-sterile compounding, checking, dispensing, and delivery.
• Distributes medications to designated areas and returns unused, discontinued, or damaged doses to the pharmacy; uses automation to ensure medications are secured and in-date.
• Supports inventory management activities, ensuring proper storage, labeling, rotation, and in-date status of supplies.
• Adheres to regulatory requirements and quality assurance standards; maintains documentation and records; promotes a safe, HIPAA-compliant environment.
• Provides excellent customer service to patients and staff while maintaining confidentiality.
