MetroHealth Medical Center in Ohio is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacis­t care across specialty and inpatient pharmacies under pharmacist supervision. You will deliver medication-related services to in-house patients and assist with take-home medications.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.
  • 18 years of age or older with no felony convictions, per Ohio Revised Code 4729.42.
  • Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Current/active Certified Pharmacy Technician from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or certification within 90 days of hire; maintains certification throughout employment.
  • Possess an Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) Certification from the National Health career Association.
  • Currently registered as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy; maintains active registration throughout the course of employment.
  • Currently registered as a Registered Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy and becomes a registered Certified Pharmacy Technician within 90 days of hire; maintains active registration throughout the course of employment.
  • Registered Pharmacy Trainee Willing and able to travel to external satellite locations, including having access to reliable transportation.

Biweekly Hours: 80.00

Shift: 7am to 5pm

Summary

  • Experience preparing sterile intravenous (IV) products.
  • 6 months of experience in an inpatient pharmacy, with unit dose and IV admixture services.
  • 1 year of experience in a retail pharmacy setting.
  • 1 year of experience in a Home Care or Long-Term Care Pharmacy setting.
