METROHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmaceutical care in specialty and inpatient pharmacies, under Pharmacist supervision. You will deliver medications to in-house patients and assist with take-home services while participating in quality control for drug distribution technologies.

The role requires diligence with certifications and active OSBP/PTCB affiliations, strong customer service, and the ability to travel to satellite locations as needed.

Qualifikationen

• Must have HS Diploma or GED.
• Must be 18 years or older with no felony convictions.
• Eligible for PTCB certification within 90 days of hire (or already certified).
• Eligible for ExCPT certification.
• Current or soon-to-be registered with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy Technician or Registered Pharmacy Technician (within 90 days).
• Must be able to travel to external satellite locations and have reliable transportation.
• Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Summary:

Under the supervision of a Pharmacist, performs a wide variety of duties in the delivery of pharmaceutical care in the specialty pharmacies (i.e. the Pediatric Pharmacy, Critical Care Pharmacy, and Oncology Pharmacy) and inpatient pharmacy. Along with other staff, delivers medication related services to in-house patients, and the related take home medication services. Assists Pharmacists in performing quality control procedures for drug distribution technologies. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

Required:

• HS Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.
• 18 years of age or older with no felony convictions, per Ohio Revised Code 4729.42.

Meets one of the following:

• Current/active Certified Pharmacy Technician from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or obtains certification within 90 days of hire; maintains certification throughout the course of employment.
• Possess an Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) Certification from the National Health career Association.

Meets one of the following:

• Currently registered as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy; maintains active registration throughout the course of employment.
• Currently registered as a Registered Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy and becomes a registered Certified Pharmacy Technician within 90 days of hire; maintains active registration throughout the course of employment.
• Registered Pharmacy Trainee Willing and able to travel to external satellite locations, including having access to reliable transportation.

• Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Preferred:

• Experience preparing sterile intravenous (IV) products.
• 6 months of experience in an inpatient pharmacy, with unit dose and IV admixture services.
• 1 year of experience in a retail pharmacy setting.
• 1 year of experience in a Home Care or Long-Term Care Pharmacy setting.
