Job summary

Providence Centralia Hospital is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to handle unit dose, IV and chemotherapy medications for nursing units and ancillary departments. You will ensure safe, accurate dispensing and timely delivery in a high-demand hospital environment.

The role requires WA-certified Pharmacy Technician with minimum 3 years’ experience, including IV admixture and aseptic technique, plus strong prioritization and stress-management skills.

Qualifications

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician Level A by WA State Board or equivalent education/experience.
  • Upon hire: Washington Pharmacy Technician License.
  • 3 years Pharmacy experience with IV admixture/aseptic technique.
  • Experience in seven areas of Pharmacy technician practice including Pharmacy Practices, ADM management, Controlled Drugs, Training & Competency, Tech Check Tech, Outpatient Pharmacy (MAP processing & POS), Medication Supply Management, National PTA, Triage, medication reconciliation or Receiving/packaging.
  • Experience with telephone call prioritization and with stressful/urgent situations.

Responsibilities

  • Fill and dispense unit dose, IV and chemotherapeutic medications from the pharmacy to nursing units and other departments.
  • Ensure prompt, safe and accurate delivery of medications.
  • Support a culture of patient-focused, whole-person care within Providence Centralia Hospital.

Description

Performs duties relating to the filling and dispensing of unit dose, IV and chemotherapeutic medications from the pharmacy to the nursing units and other ancillary departments in a prompt, safe and accurate manner.

Required Qualifications:
  • Successful completion of a Pharmacy Technician Level A program certified by the Washington State Board of Pharmacy or equivalent education/experience.
  • Upon hire: Washington Pharmacy Technician License.
  • 3 years Pharmacy experience working at least the equivalent of 0.5 FTE or greater with IV admixture/aseptic technique skills.
  • Experience in at least seven areas of Pharmacy technician practice:
  • OR Pharmacy Practices,
  • Automated Dispensing Machine (ADM) Management & Troubleshooting,
  • Controlled Drug Management,
  • Training & Competency Validations,
  • Tech Check Tech Certification,
  • Outpatient Pharmacy Practice (including Map prescription processing and POS),
  • Medication Supply Management,
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification,
  • Triage Technician Functions & Problem Solving Skills,
  • Medication reconciliation skills, or
  • Receiving/packaging practice.
  • Experience with telephone call prioritization.
  • Experience with stressful/urgent need situation.
