Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care is seeking a Pharmacy Technician who will work under the direct supervision of a pharmacist to provide pharmaceutical care, prioritize medication orders, prepare medications for dispensing, and support distribution and stocking at patient care locations.

Responsibilities include sterile product preparation, inventory management, use of automation, and assisting the pharmacist to ensure safe, effective patient therapy within a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPHT certification preferred.
• State Board of Pharmacy registration required in the state where work is performed.
• Computer, typing, calculation and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Practices the Medication-Use Process: Procures, handles, prepares, distributes, charges/credits and disposes of medication safely and accurately.
• Manages own pharmacy practice effectively.
• Processes and prepares sterile products for dispensing.
• Participates in inventory management.
• Uses and maintains automation/equipment.
• Assists the pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical care to patients.
• Contributes to goals, programs and report cards for operational unit and entity.
• Provides education/training.
• Completes assigned goals.
