Job summary

Meijer is seeking a pharmacy professional to practice in a patient‑centered environment focused on care and service. This role requires friendliness and exceptional customer service to enhance patient health, within our Meijer pharmacy team in Defiance, Ohio.

Responsibilities include interacting with patients, processing prescriptions, insurance adjudication, inventory management, labeling, and maintaining a clean, confidential and compliant pharmacy space.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required.
• Registered and/or licensed as required in the state of practice.
• Retail/Community Pharmacy experience.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients at various service points of contact.
• Promote pharmacy initiatives and clinical services to customers.
• Input customer and prescription information into the pharmacy dispensing system.
• Create prescription labels and adjudicate insurance claims.
• Retrieve the appropriate medication from inventory.
• Complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions and receiving drug orders.
• Order prescription medication for the Pharmacy Department.
• Stock prescription medication.
• Maintain excellent organization and prioritize workload.
• Communicate effectively and act as an agent of change.
• Keep the pharmacy clean, orderly, and professionally presented.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Licensed in the respective state if required.
• Complete employer-provided training if licensure is not required in the state.
