Qualifications

We are launching a new outpatient pharmacy at St. Mary’s Regional Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado. This is a unique opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician who wants more than just a role; someone excited to help build something meaningful and shape care delivery from day one.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, with no weekends or holidays.

Hours

10‑hour shifts, 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM, per week. Scheduled weekly hours: 40.

Location

St. Mary’s Regional Hospital, Grand Junction, Colorado.

Job Function

The Pharmacy Technician demonstrates consistent application of knowledge and skills in assisting the pharmacist in executing appropriate, safe, efficient, and cost‑effective pharmaceutical care. This position participates in many procedural aspects of pharmacy practice under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist and is integral to the pharmacy team.

Essential Functions

• Assists the pharmacist in collecting clinical and other patient information and maintaining appropriate records as required by regulation and policy.
• Utilizes pharmacy technology to prepare medication orders for dispensing, performs calculations, and compounds medications as appropriate.
• Attains appropriate supervision and accuracy checks from pharmacists and understands when a pharmacist must verify tasks.
• Accurately fills and maintains medication supplies and verifies controlled substance inventories to ensure security, accuracy, and cost effectiveness.
• Communicates with caregivers regarding responsibilities, identifies concerns, and participates in quality and patient safety initiatives, escalating issues to pharmacists when appropriate.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Current pharmacy technician certification and/or license applicable to state of practice.
• Current knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding pharmacy practice and distribution of approved drugs.
• Any lapse may result in disciplinary action, up to termination.
