Job summary

Christiana Care Health Services, Inc. is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Technician for the Wilmington Retail Pharmacy to work day/evening rotating shifts. You will support the pharmacist with prescription data entry, labeling, and patient care, including insurance billing and counseling.

Applicants must have a high school diploma and PTCB certification (unless in a PharmD program). Experience in outpatient pharmacy and McKesson systems is preferred, with strong customer service and math skills

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous outpatient pharmacy experience preferred.
• PTCB certification required unless enrolled in PharmD program.
• Encouraged to enroll/graduates of 2-year Associates or 4-year Bachelors in Health Science majors; must obtain PTCB within 1 year of hire.
• Experience with McKesson Enterprise application preferred.
• Knowledge of generic and trade names of formulary drugs.
• Ability to type and perform basic math calculations.
• Computer experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service required.
• Ability to handle high volume.

Responsibilities

• Fill patient prescriptions, data entry, insurance billing, labeling and packaging for pharmacist verification.
• Assist pharmacist in providing timely, cost-effective pharmaceutical care.
• Make medication credit and charge adjustments via computer system.
• Return any extra medication to stock.
• Reorder medications in short supply to restock the pharmacy.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Answer telephone and greet visitors in a courteous manner.
• Provide information regarding patient drug orders.
• Refer problems and drug information inquiries to the pharmacist as required.
• Orient and train new pharmacy personnel.

The Christiana Retail Outpatient Pharmacy Department is currently recruiting for a full-time Pharmacy Technician to work Day/Evening rotating shifts at our Wilmington Retail Pharmacy. Applicants must have flexible scheduling and be able to work at all three Retail Outpatient Pharmacy Department sites. this position will work weekends as required and holidays as required.

Locations

The Wilmington Hospital Outpatient Retail Pharmacy operates Monday through Friday 8:30 am-5pm. The Christiana Outpatient Retail Pharmacy operates Monday through Friday 8am-8pm & 9am-5pm on Saturdays and Sundays. The Mail Order Pharmacy operates Monday through Friday 8:30 am-5pm.

Responsibilities

• Fill patient prescriptions to include data entry, insurance billing, and appropriate labeling and packaging, for pharmacist verification.

Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required Previous Outpatient pharmacy experience preferred Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification required unless enrolled in a PharmD program Applicants enrolled in or a graduate of either a 2-year Associates Degree program or a 4-year Bachelors Degree program in Health Science Majors are encouraged to apply and will be required to achieve PTCB certification within 1 year of hire date Experience with McKesson Enterprise application preferred Knowledge of generic and trade names of formulary drugs Ability to type and perform basic math calculations Computer experience preferred Excellent customer service required Ability to handle high volume

Pay

Hourly Pay Range: $20.24 - $30.36 This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
