Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's CPS Solutions-Optum unit is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to support the Northwest Missouri Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center Hospital. You will prepare, deliver, and restock medications, perform data entry, process refills, and assist with stocking and packaging for unit doses.

A High School diploma and Missouri registration (or the ability to obtain it) are required. Preferred candidates include CPhT certification, hospital experience, and proficiency with Microsoft Word.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Registered, or the ability to become registered, as a pharmacy technician in Missouri.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, delivering, and restocking medications to the hospital units.
• Data / order entry.
• Processing medication refill requests and preparing them for pharmacist verification.
• Ordering and returning medications from the wholesaler.
• Managing expired medication returns with reverse distributor vendor.
• Operates and maintains the TouchPoint automated dispensing machine.
• Unit-dose repackaging medications from bulk bottles.

About the Facility:

Northwest Missouri Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center Hospital provides inpatient psychiatric care for approximately 108 adults housed in the main hospital units or in one of six cottages on grounds. Our multidisciplinary team delivers 24/7 care in a safe, structured environment, offering individualized treatment plans designed to promote stabilization, recovery, and long-term success.

Through compassionate care, evidence-based treatment, and educational support, we help patients build the skills and confidence needed to achieve healthier outcomes and improved quality of life. CPS Solutions-Optum has partnered with the hospital to manage the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy. This position is an employee of CPS Solutions-Optum.

Pharmacy Hours:

The pharmacy is open Monday-Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm; and is closed on weekends and some holidays.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Preparing, delivering, and restocking medications to the various units/departments
• Data / order entry
• Processing medication refill requests and preparing them for pharmacist verification
• Ordering and returning medications from the wholesaler
• Managing expired medication returns with reverse distributor vendor
• Operates and maintains the TouchPoint automated dispensing machine
• Obtaining the necessary medications to stock the TouchPoint automated dispensing machine
• Unit-dose repackaging medications from bulk bottles of tablets and capsules
• Operates and maintains the Parata ATP400 repackaging multi-drug pouch machine and canisters
• Operates and maintains the Parata InspectRx machine
• Performs routine checks for medication outdates
• Maintains pharmacy cleanliness in accordance with safety and regulatory standards
• Works with Accounting staff to create purchase orders for needed non-medication supplies
• Assist with additional pharmacy duties as needed

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Registered, or the ability to become registered, as a pharmacy technician in the State of Missouri

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification
• 1+ years of hospital experience
• Proficient computer skills including experience using Microsoft Word
• Proven effective communications skills; verbal and written

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16 - $29 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
