Shields Health Solutions in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a licensed Pharmacy Technician for a Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule. You will support patients and pharmacists with prescription entry, insurance navigation, and medication adherence activities.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year experience (3+ preferred), is licensed in Tennessee, and can use Microsoft Office and pharmacy databases. High school diploma or GED required. Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Experience 1+ year required, 3+ years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and enter prescriptions.
• Clarify prescription orders with pharmacist.
• Label and fill prescriptions for verification.
• Perform pharmaceutical calculations.
• Identify medications requiring special handling.
• Prepare medications for delivery to patients/departments.
• Respond to inquiries and provide adherence checks.
• Secure refills and resolve insurance issues.
• Maintain pharmacy inventory and supply ordering.

Pharmacy Technician Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM schedule!

The successful candidate will provide integrated support to patients and pharmacists by providing a 'hands-on" approach to total quality patient care through the delivery of a full continuum of medication adherence support. Candidatesmust be a licensed Pharmacy Technician with the State of employment.

Job Duties:

• Interpret and enter prescriptions.
• Clarify prescription orders with pharmacist and/or clinician asappropriate.
• Label and fill prescriptions for the pharmacist to verify.
• Perform pharmaceutical calculations.
• Identifiesmedications requiring special storage and/or handling such as hazardous medications and/or refrigeratedmedication.
• Identifyand assembling supplies necessary for select medications such sharps containers, needles/syringes, alcohol swabs, Band-Aids.
• Prepares medication for delivery to patients and departments.
• Answers,resolves,and triages inbound inquiries.
• Provides outbound therapy/medication adherence check-ups.
• Securesrefill prescriptions.
• Resolves insurance related issues andassistspatients with various forms of financialassistance.
• Maintainspharmacy inventory including drug ordering and receiving.
• Communicate directly with patients over the phone toassistthem in the awareness of their medications.
• Achieve operationalobjectivesby inputting data, performing adjudication on testclaimsand preparing action plans for follow-up.
• Manage, organize, and update relevant data using database applications.
• Apply observations and recommendations to operational issues, increased productivity, quality, and customer-service standards.
• Activelyparticipatesin process improvement initiatives.
• Protectsorganization'svalue by keeping information confidential.
• Other duties as assigned

Experience/ Education:

Required Licensure/Certification: Weare seeking experienced pharmacy technicians who are registered with the State of employment. Should certification need to be obtained for a particular state or updated at the time of employment, the applicant will commit to obtaining the required certification within a mutually agreed upontimeframe. Continued employment is contingent upon meeting these requirements.

Years of Experience: Required 1+ years, Preferred 3+ years’ experience as a Pharmacy Technician

Education: High school diploma or GED required

Technical Skills:

Solid computer skills are required, including proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) for communication, documentation, and data management, as well as, navigating the internet and web-based platforms. Data entry and computer skills will be evaluated through an assessment as part of the pre-employment process.

Location & Eligibility:

Location: Must commute daily to Chattanooga, TN.

You must be authorized to work in the United States.
