Job summary

Polaris Pharmacy Services in Ft Lauderdale, FL is seeking a Pharmacy Fill Technician to accurately prepare prescriptions, label, scan, and finalize prescriptions under pharmacist verification. You will help maintain an organized workspace and ensure regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include pulling medications, accuracy checks, processing daily drug orders, handling returns, packing, and adhering to HIPAA and safety guidelines. The role may require overtime and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Pharmacy technician licenses/certifications required by state regulations.
• Previous pharmacy experience preferred (long-term care experience preferred).

Responsibilities

• Pull medications from shelving and storage areas (pre-pack racks).
• Accuracy check of final preparation before pharmacist verification.
• Fill daily drug orders accurately and efficiently under pharmacist supervision.
• Assist in processing returned drugs and recycle/dispose per procedure.
• Assist in pre-packing frequently ordered medications; label and stock as needed during low-volume times.
• Package materials and products manually.
• Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA.
• Maintain clean/organized workstation areas and replenish all stock supplies needed each shift.
• Alert the pharmacist on duty of any medication/product that is not scanning properly.
• Comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code.
• Overtime, holidays, and weekends may be required and/or expected.
• Other duties as assigned; job duties may vary depending on business needs.

Job Summary

The Pharmacy Fill Technician accurately prepares prescriptions, including the careful picking, labeling, scanning, and final preparation of prescriptions for the pharmacist's verification. Additionally, they assist in maintaining a well-organized workspace and ensure compliance with regulations.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Previous pharmacy experience preferred (one or more years of long-term care experience preferred)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• May sit or stand seven (7) to ten (10) hours per day
• The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, bend, walk
• May be necessary to work extended hours as needed
• May lift and/or move up to 30 pounds

HOLIDAY & PTO POLICY

• Paid holidays are provided annually, with 6 days offered each year, along with 5 sick days.
