Job summary

Trinity Health in Grand Rapids, MI seeks a Pharmacy Technician to assist Pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining inventory, and updating patient records. You will provide courteous, timely service to patients, visitors and staff under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist.

Qualified candidates have a Michigan pharmacy tech license (CPhT preferred), strong math and communication skills, and at least two years of pharmacy experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school education or equivalent.
• Prefer completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician training program or two years of college with math/science.
• Minimum licensed as a Pharmacy Technician in Michigan.
• Preferred active status as a CPhT by PTCB.
• Minimum two years of pharmacy work experience.
• Good written and verbal communication, plus math skills for calculations.
• Familiarity with standard desktop and Windows-based computers and basic software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, package, and distribute medication orders as requested.
• Maintain adequate stock of medications and supplies.
• Keep logs, records, and documentation; operate telephone and pneumatic tube; handle cash transactions.
• Prepare IV admixtures and sterile products.
• Process medication charges and credits per policy.
• Perform basic pharmacy computer order entry.
• Assist in training and evaluating pharmacy students/residents.
