Job summary

Ochsner Health is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to deliver medications under supervision, fill orders, and manage IV admixtures in a hospital setting. You will use a computer system to enter orders, verify patient information, and maintain stock across pharmacy areas.

The role requires a High School diploma, current Pharmacy Technician Certification, and the ability to travel between facilities with a flexible schedule. Hospital experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Current Pharmacy Technician Certification issued by the Board of Pharmacy.
• Preferred - 1 year hospital experience.
• Must have computer skills and data entry proficiency.
• Proficient with Windows-style applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Strong interpersonal skills; able to travel between facilities and work a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Fills medication orders, charges/credits, stocks, delivers, and inspects areas.
• Prepares IV admixtures and other extemporaneous compounds; enters TPN orders.
• Maintains competency in professional growth and responsibilities.
• Adapts communication to patient population and protects privacy.
• Performs clerical duties at the Pharmacy window and related tasks.
