Job summary

Guardian Pharmacy of Birmingham is seeking an Inventory Pharmacy Technician to join a close-knit team onsite in Birmingham, AL. You will check in daily orders, stock shelves, and maintain organized inventory to support efficient pharmacy operations.

The role requires strong computer skills, experience with pharmacy systems, and attention to detail. You will perform cycle counts, manage discrepancies, and assist with packaging and daily order submissions. Onsite work, 8:30am-5pm, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Pharmacy Technician license/certification/registration per state requirements; National Certification preferred (PTCB).
  • 1+ years of related experience; advanced degree may substitute.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, process, unpack and check in orders on daily basis.
  • Place and organize inventory on shelves; ensure products are labeled.
  • Perform daily cycle count activities and inventory audits.
  • Monitor and maintain adequate inventory levels; restock shelves daily.
  • Remove outdated products from shelves for return.
  • Investigate and report inventory discrepancies.
  • Assist with maintaining pharmacy system by updating NDCs in a timely manner.
  • Participate in quarterly physical inventory.
  • May assist in filling and packaging of prescriptions.
  • May assist with submitting all regular daily orders to ensure availability of products and smooth workflow in the pharmacy.
  • Other essential functions and duties may be assigned as needed.

M-F, 8:30am-5pm

This role will be performed onsite at a closed-door pharmacy in Birmingham, AL.

Must be highly organized, comfortable working autonomously as the sole owner of assigned processes, and able to interact with other departments with patience and professionalism. Strong computer skills required; Excel proficiency a plus.

Responsibilities include checking in and stocking daily orders, keeping shelves clean and organized despite frequent use by other departments, completing return-to-stock cutouts, and assisting with a variety of projects to improve pharmacy efficiency and operations.

The Inventory Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting in monitoring and maintaining the pharmacy inventory. Ensures pharmacy has sufficient supply of inventory to meet operational needs while maintaining targeted inventory levels.

Education and/or Certifications
