Job summary

Atlantic Health in New Jersey is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist in the hospital pharmacy. You will fill prescriptions under supervision, process records, and help manage inventory and data entry to support patient care.

This role requires a High School diploma, NJ Board of Pharmacy registration, and preferably Hospital Pharmacy experience; PTCB or NHA certification within 6 months may be required.

Qualifications

  • Hospital Pharmacy experience preferred.
  • PTCB or NHA certification active or acquire within 6 months of hire.
  • Current active registration with the State of NJ Board of Pharmacy required.

Responsibilities

  • Mixes pharmaceutical preparations and fills bottles with prescribed tablets/capsules; types labels.
  • Receives, stores, and counts stock; enters data in computer to maintain inventory.
  • Prepares IV packs using sterile technique under pharmacist supervision.
  • Cleans equipment and sterilizes glassware per prescribed methods.
  • Types and files reports and completes forms as directed.
  • Fills routine prescriptions with prepackaged pharmaceuticals and resolves prescription queries.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Description

Responsible for filling prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist in the Hospital Pharmacy. Processes records of medication and equipment dispensed to hospital patients, computes charges, and enters data in the system. Implements inventory control processes and systems and orders stock and merchandise within regulatory guidelines.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Mixes pharmaceutical preparations, fills bottles with prescribed tablets and capsules, and types out labels for bottles.
  • Receives and stores incoming supplies, counts stock, and enters data in computer to maintain inventory records.
  • Prepares intravenous (IV) packs using sterile technique under the supervision of the hospital pharmacist.
  • Cleans equipment and sterilizes glassware according to prescribed methods.
  • Types and files reports and completes forms as directed.
  • Fills routine prescriptions with prepackaged pharmaceuticals and resolves queries related to prescriptions.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
