Job summary

St. Luke's Health–Sugar Land Hospital in Sugar Land, TX is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists by accurately preparing and dispensing medications, processing prescriptions, and maintaining inventory in a patient‑focused role.

You will perform IV admixture preparation, operate automated delivery systems, assist with QA records, and help with day‑to‑day department tasks while adhering to Joint Commission and health regulations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required at hire.
• 6 months of IV medication compounding experience.
• TX Pharmacy Technician license/certification required upon hire.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Certified Pharmacy Technician, you will provide essential support to pharmacists, ensuring the accurate and efficient preparation and dispensing of medications to patients. Every day you will expertly process prescriptions, compound medications, manage inventory, and meticulously assist patients with their inquiries, all while adhering to strict safety and regulatory guidelines. To be successful, you will demonstrate outstanding attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a professional, patient-focused demeanor, contributing to safe medication practices and excellent patient care.

• Prepares, distributes and delivers medications in accordance with CSH policies and procedures, The Joint Commission requirements, and Department of Health regulations.
• Performs clerical and administrative tasks in support of the day to day operations of the department.
• Maintains proper medication and supply stock levels
• Operates and maintains automated medication delivery systems and devices.
• Participates in department quality assurance programs and maintains appropriate quality assurance documentation.
• Trained and certified in IV admixture preparation including all regulatory and compliance requirements with required training and documentation. This may include preparation and handling of hazardous / chemotherapy medication if applicable.
