Job summary

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma with 1–4 years of pharmacy tech experience and a current Alabama Pharmacy Technician registration.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Greater than one year up to four (4) of experience as a pharmacy technician.
• Maintains current Pharmacy Technician registration with the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Assists with operational and distribution responsibilities related to Pharmacy Technician functions.
• Demonstrates safety, emergency, and risk management procedures.
• Understanding of hospital mission, policies, patient care, and Pharmacy department goals.
• Identifies resources and departments for customer service and patient care based on need and availability.
• Operates equipment required for pharmacy procedures in line with safety regulations and procedures.
• Performs basic Pharmacy Technician procedures and drug procurement in the department as per policy.
• Assists Pharmacist in medication distribution including aseptic techniques for admixture and use of automated dispensing cabinets.
• Maintains USP 797 standards and other regulatory documentation.
• Maintains safe handling and proper disposal requirements.
• Participates in training of new pharmacy technicians and covers specialized technician services as needed.
• Maintains regular attendance as per hospital policies and standards.
• Ensures compliance with Orlando Health policies and procedures.
