Job summary

Franciscan Health Indianapolis Campus is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II to assist pharmacists with a range of technical duties in medication order filling and IV admixtures. The role supports pharmacy operations and performs administrative tasks as needed.

Responsibilities include restocking Pyxis machines, verifying medication integrity, delivering orders, and preparing intravenous piggyback admixtures while serving as a second check in order entry accuracy.

Qualifications

• Required High School Diploma or GED.
• 1 year sterile products experience preferred.
• 1 year sterile compounding preferred.
• 1 year pharmaceutical/pharmacology experience preferred.
• State licensure as Pharmacy Tech (PHT).
• PTCB or ExCPT certification required for those with a pharmacy tech license (N/A if intern).
• Pharmacy Intern Permit (PHINTERN) required by state licensing board.

• Verify integrity of medications in Pyxis machines and floor stock areas.
• Deliver filled medication orders and pick up new orders to be filled.
• Package and maintain records of medications not prepackaged.

• Prepare and deliver intravenous piggyback admixtures.

Among the Franciscan team, the Pharmacy Technician II assists the Pharmacists in a variety of technical duties related to the filling of medication orders or IV Admixtures. This position participates technical and administrative functions related to the pharmacy.
