Pharmacy Technician I - Supply Chain Home Infusion

Position Summary / Career Interest:

Join our Home Infusion team! We are currently recruiting for a full time supply chain Pharmacy Technician for our Southlake campus in Lenexa, Kansas.

Home Infusion Supply Chain Technician responsibilities include ordering infusion and compounding supplies, inventory management, expiration audits, IV pump management, assist with DSCSA regulations, restocking supplies, etc.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
  • Prepares medications and supplies for dispensing: After passing an initial competency, independently prepares medications including basic sterile compounds and patient supplies with accuracy.
  • Distributes medications, supplies, and stock items: Accurately pulls medications and supplies utilizing the established workflow management system. Accurately stocks medications in ADS machines, as applicable. Uses CSM accurately if required. Maintains distribution records as required.
  • Maintains Pharmacy Inventory: Restocks pharmacy inventory in appropriate quantities from designated back up areas. Ensures rotation of stock and inventory. Pulls outdates. Receives/unpacks drug orders from wholesaler, maintaining appropriate inventory records.
  • Operates pharmacy computer systems: Accurately utilizes basic computer programs to accomplish daily tasks.
  • Compliance and recordkeeping: Follows departmental and hospital policies. Completes required documentation associated with daily work, meeting regulatory standards.
  • Patient Care: Provides courteous, professional service when assisting patients, caregivers, and staff. Approaches daily work with a patient first mindset.
  • Medication Safety: Practices medication safety basics such as barcode scanning and double-checking labels; promptly reports discrepancies to pharmacists or leaders. Reports safety events in Health System reporting tool.
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Licensure and Certification
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Kansas locations: CPhT required by first board renewal.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Missouri locations: none
  • Pharmacy Technician Registration - State Board of Pharmacy Kansas and/or Missouri - per work state upon Hire
  • Technician must maintain certification on an ongoing basis and complete all continuing education requirements.
Preferred Licensure and Certification
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) OR equivalent National Pharmacy Technician Certification.
