Job summary

Riverside Health in Newport News, VA, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician I to join an interdisciplinary care team. This role supports prescription processing, dispensing, inventory control and records management while maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations.

You will complete annual competencies, provide customer service, and assist with audits and training to ensure safety and quality in pharmacy operations.

Qualifications

Education: Pharmacy Technician Training Program or equivalent (Preferred).
Experience: Less than 1 year Prior Pharmacy Technician experience (Preferred).
Strong medical terminology and prescription drug knowledge.
Basic math skills for pharmaceutical calculations.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support of pharmacy services including receiving and confirming prescriptions.
Prepare and dispense prescriptions and maintain pharmacy records.
Distribute pharmaceuticals and maintain up-to-date knowledge of pharmacy workflows.
Perform inventory control and ensure proper storage of inventory.
Complete compliance audits and financial transactions; assist with inspections and training.
Interact with customers and peers with excellent customer service.
