5110 Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician I to support safe, timely pharmacy services. Responsibilities include preparing, packaging, labeling, and distributing unit-dose medications and stock orders, delivering to patient care areas, and maintaining storage and inventory per policy.
The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma, state license, possible PTCB certification, and 0–1 year of technician experience.
Under the direction of a staff pharmacist and/or pharmacy leadership team, the Certified Pharmacy Technician I performs routine technical and operational duties to support safe, timely pharmacy services in accordance with established policies and applicable regulations.
Responsibilities include preparing, packaging, labeling, and distributing unit-dose medications, outpatient prescriptions, and stock orders; delivering medications and supplies to patient care areas; and supporting proper storage, rotation, and inventory practices.
The technician documents work and uses pharmacy information systems and departmental tools as trained and may be assigned to central pharmacy and/or specialized areas based on operational needs.
The role also includes auditing medication storage areas, escalating discrepancies, and handling controlled substances per departmental policy.
The technician may assist with onboarding/training of junior staff and participate in departmental projects and quality/safety initiatives as assigned.
