Job Description
Responsible for training and working as a full‑time team member within the pharmacy department while receiving on‑the‑job instruction and hands‑on experience. Assists pharmacists in preparing, distributing, and delivering medications in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Participates in inventory management, replenishes automated dispensing cabinets, and provides customer service to patients and healthcare staff. Gains exposure to diverse pharmacy roles and settings to develop comprehensive technical skills. Prepares for national certification by utilizing provided resources, guided learning, and practical experience.
High school diploma or equivalent and vocational/technical training in a designated technical area.
0–2 years of experience in a healthcare, clinical setting, or a relevant area. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. All experience must be paid and in the same related field. Part‑time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week. Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.
Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician by either PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT).
This position requires intermittent sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time; performing tasks with repetitive motions such as typing; intermittent standing or walking with objects weighing up to 10 pounds; occasional standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; and occasional lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds. It also involves occasional risk of back injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; and exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, cuts/punctures, and bloodborne or airborne pathogens.
