Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II to assist pharmacists with preparing, compounding and dispensing medications. You will report to the supervising pharmacist and follow all applicable laws for patient safety and care.

This full-time daytime position is temporarily based at Mercy Old Tesson with relocation planned before year-end. No night or weekend shifts, and opportunities to grow within Mercy's comprehensive benefits program are highlighted.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Active Missouri Board of Pharmacy registration as a Pharmacy Technician or eligibility to submit for registration by first day of work (fingerprints for FBI background check).
• 1 year of pharmacy experience preferred but not required.
• Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) is referenced for higher Tech levels.

Pharmacy Technician

Location: Temporarily based at Mercy Old Tesson (relocating before year-end)

Schedule/Hours

Full-time (40 hrs.) M-F Day Shift

The Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications and are accountable to the supervising pharmacist who is legally responsible for the care and safety of the patients served by the pharmacy. The Pharmacy Technician follows applicable standards and federal, state & local laws and regulations for the care and safety of the customers and patients served.

Qualifications

Tech I

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
• Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of work. This includes submitting fingerprints for FBI background check.
• Experience: 1-year relevant pharmacy experience preferred but not required.
• Other: Successfully complete pharmacy department orientation.

Tech II

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
• Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of work. This includes submitting fingerprints for FBI background check.
• Experience: 1-year relevant pharmacy experience required; 2 years preferred.
• Certifications: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).

Tech III

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
• Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of work. This includes submitting fingerprints for FBI background check.
• Experience: 3-year relevant pharmacy experience required
• Certifications: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
