Job summary

Adventist Health Sonora is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support unit dose drug distribution under pharmacist supervision. You will assist in processing prescriptions, preparing and delivering medications, and maintaining accurate inventory in a busy hospital setting.

The ideal candidate holds a CA pharmacy technician license (required) and may have an associated degree or relevant experience. This full-time role offers varied shifts and a path for professional growth within the Pharmacy

Qualifications

• Education and work experience aligned with pharmacy technician duties; high school or GED preferred or equivalent.
• An associate/technical degree or related experience preferred.
• CA state pharmacy technician license is required; board certification preferred in CA/OR.

Responsibilities

• Pull medications from stock and match labels generated by the pharmacist to patient orders.
• Maintain floor stock in nursing areas; restock and rotate medications and manage deliveries.
• Prepare IV medication products in compliance with laws and regulations.
• Check in orders from wholesalers, distribute stock, and process returns and back orders promptly.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Performs packaging, manipulative, repetitive, or other nondiscretionary tasks related to the furnishing of drugs, while assisting and under the direct supervision and control of a pharmacist. Fills and delivers the unit dose cassettes from the patients profile to nursing units.

Job Requirements

Education and Work Experience:

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
• Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications

• State Pharmacy Technician license: Required in CA
• Pharmaceutical Technician Board certification: Preferred in CA and OR

Essential Functions

• Pulls medications from stock and matches medications with the corresponding label generated by the pharmacist involved with entry of medication orders into the patient’s computer generated profile in an accurate manner.
• Maintains floor stock (restocking, removal of expired medications, rotate stock) of nursing areas and other medication areas. Prices and stocks in-coming deliveries.
• Prepares IV medication products within the guidelines of applicable laws and regulations.
• Checks in orders from wholesaler and suppliers. Distributes appropriately the stock and file paperwork; processes returns and back orders in a timely manner.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
