BAART Programs is seeking a compassionate Pharmacy Technician to work with the pharmacist in providing medications and health care products to patients in a clinic setting.

The role involves counting tablets, labeling bottles, taking part in inventory management, and ensuring accurate documentation and patient service while adhering to HIPAA and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Pharmacy Technician in the state of assignment.
  • Minimum age 18.
  • Understanding of HIPAA, federal and state regulations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong documentation and computer skills.
  • Knowledge of drug trends and addiction treatment systems.
  • Ability to work autonomously within a medical hierarchy.
  • Able to handle stressful situations and provide customer service.
  • Must be present for in-person meetings at the office.
  • Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients in person and by phone; answer questions; refer inquiries to the pharmacist.
  • Maintain pharmacy inventory; check stock and place orders; verify receipt.
  • Keep the pharmacy safe and clean by following procedures and regulations.
  • Follow infection-control policies to protect patients and employees.
  • Organize medications for dispensing; read orders; prepare labels; compute quantities.
  • Maintain records by filing physicians' orders and prescriptions.
  • Calculate and issue charges to generate revenues.
  • Ensure medication availability by delivering to patients and departments.
  • Prepare reports by collecting and summarizing information.
  • Contribute to team efforts and complete related tasks as needed.
  • Handle stressful situations and interact professionally with others.
  • Be present during working hours for meetings and computer access.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Description

Full Time - Pharmacy Technician

BAART Programs is looking for a compassionate and customer service oriented Pharmacy technician to work along with the pharmacist to provide medication and other health care products to patients. Technicians usually perform routine tasks to help prepare prescribed medication, such as counting tablets and labeling bottles.

Responsibilities
  • Helps health care providers and patients by greeting them in person and by phone; answering questions and requests; referring inquiries to the pharmacist.
  • Maintains pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed medications and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt; removing outdated drugs.
  • Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Organizes medications for pharmacist to dispense by reading medication orders and prescriptions; preparing labels; calculating quantities; assembling intravenous solutions and other pharmaceutical therapies.
  • Maintains records by recording and filing physicians' orders and prescriptions.
  • Generates revenues by calculating, recording, and issuing charges.
  • Ensures medication availability by delivering medications to patients and departments.
  • Prepares reports by collecting and summarizing information.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and interact with others.
  • Must be present during working hours at the office for in person meetings and access to a computer without violating company policy.
  • Other duties, as assigned
Qualifications
  • Minimum age requirement of 18.
  • Currently licensed as Pharmacy Technician in the State where assigned.
  • Understanding of HIPAA, Federal, State and CARF standards and regulations.
  • Proven excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent documentation and computer skills required.
  • Knowledge of local community drug trends, the effects on the body and cognitive functioning of drugs of abuse, signs and symptoms of narcotic overdose, psychosocial implications of addictive disease, the process of addiction and treatment, social service, economic, legal, and medical systems, HIV transmission-health, behavioral, and emotional implications of addiction.
  • Ability to work effectively within medical hierarchy, assist in complex problem solving with clients, and work autonomously.
  • Exhibits good time management skills.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population and exhibit excellent customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of Code of Pharmacy Regulations in the State where assigned
  • Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.
