Job summary

Ephraim McDowell Health, Inc. seeks a Pharmacy Technician for EMRMC and Bluegrass Drug Store. The role is Flex/PRN, 1st shift, supporting the purchasing, preparation, distribution and charging of prescriptions under pharmacist supervision.

Candidate must be registered with the KY Board of Pharmacy before hire; CPHT within 6 months is expected if non-certified. Training across EMRMC OP and Bluegrass Drug Store is provided, with opportunities for education and residency programs.

Qualifications

• One year of pharmacy technician experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic algebra skills for pharmaceutical calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare non-sterile dosage forms under pharmacist supervision.
• Maintain adequate inventory and assist in receiving daily orders.
• Process refill requests and verify prescriptions via barcode scanning.
• Deliver medications to patient rooms or off-site locations and manage will-call.
• Handle hazardous medications per policy and maintain controlled substance records.
