Job summary

High Country Community Health in Boone, NC is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in all aspects of daily operations, including prescription preparation, data entry, sales, customer service, and inventory management.

Under supervision, you will enter prescriptions, assist with insurance claims, label and package medications, and help with shipping orders while upholding patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements. Prior retail pharmacy experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• 1-3 years of pharmacy tech experience in retail preferred.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification Board certification and current certificate required.
• Maintain active certification and complete continuing education.
• Proficient in mathematics and basic/advanced pharmacy calculations.
• Ability to handle interruptions and adapt to workload changes.
• Data entry and insurance claims experience expected.

Responsibilities

• Assist in prescription filling, data entry, and sales.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering meds and supplies.
• Enter client and prescription information and submit claims.
• Label and package prescriptions.
• Process sales while maintaining confidentiality (HIPAA).
• Assist in shipment or delivery of orders.
• Communicate with clients, prescribers, nurses and staff.
• Maintain client confidentiality at all times.
• Provide high-quality customer service and respond to inquiries.
